Mon Apr 21 You could try to flash the firmware on the ssd. This might occur if you have tried to install another operating system alongside Windows 7, such as Windows XP. I guess that means the SSD is the problem?

Alex, please sudo lshw -c network and post output. I’m at a total loss at how this could have happened. Laptop has the same ethernet controller. Very definitely a JMC chipset wired ethernet controller in it, though.
Try to update or reinstall the JM driver from the Sager site.
